Zombie Crawl – Sat 3rd Nov 2012

Herne Bay Zombie Crawl

HALLOWEEN –  when witches fly, ghosts stir….and monsters walk the streets of Herne Bay.

The town’s inaugural Zombie Crawl in 2011 was a supernatural success with more than 250 people dressing up to stumble around the streets, raising almost £1,000 for Kent Air Ambulance in the process.

The fun event appeals to all ages, with entire families joining in, making for a brilliant atmosphere and some wonderfully surreal photos.

And the Zombie Crawl will rise again this year, bigger and better, on Saturday, November 3.

It’s FREE to enter, just dress up and turn up at The King’s Hall, Beacon Hill, at 6.30pm and get ready to join our paranormal parade.

Breakawayz Dance Club will bust out some spooky steps inspired by Michael Jackson’s spine-tingling Thriller video at the Zombie Ball after party, during the day, zombie face-painters will be in the town ready to give a macabre makeover to any willing participants.

There are some great prizes for the Crawl’s best zombies, including goodies for the kids, books, graphic novels (courtesy of Quirk Books, Publishers Group UK, Sean T Page and 2000AD Magazine) and other themed giveaways.

It’s also great fun to create your own look and there will be lots of tutorials online as well as a Zombie Workshops at Beach Creative, Beach Street during half term week, with all sorts of Halloween and zombie creativity going on.

The fun doesn’t end with the Crawl either. We’ve  joined forces with  Herne Bay Town Partners  providing a Monsters’ Ball in Kings Hall on the Saturday night. Tickets are keenly priced at £3 per person and families are welcome.

Your £3 gets you a night of music, prizes, sweets and treats for the kids, and of course the bar will be open for a well deserved drink for the grown-ups! The cameras will be well and truly flashing away, and if some of the stunning make-up from last year is anything to go by, this year is going to be amazing!

  • Kids Korner, 98 Mortimer Street, Herne Bay, CT6 5EB

Of course, all this fun wouldn’t exist without classic horror movies so it’s fitting that Herne Bay’s Kavanagh Cinema will be joining in the fun too, with a special zombie-themed night.

Herne Bay Zombie Crawl is a real community event, sponsored by local businesses including Nutcutters Family Hair Salon, Cocketts Beds, Peter’s Produce, Kids Korner, Cain’s Amusements and Wisteria Lodge Holistic Therapies.

So don’t miss this year’s frightful fun – it’s dead good.
